Castle Escape

A short roguelike game about escaping from a castle full of traps.

WASD to move, space to dismiss text.

I completely ran out of time to add all the content I had planned, so the submitted version is only just over 8kb and the route through the castle is heavily truncated.

There is a defined start and end though, and a couple of "puzzles" in the middle, so that counts as a game, right?

Feedback from the judges

Jupiter Hadley: Really lovely story! I quite like this castle narrator and the puzzles within your game.

Anonymous: I very much enjoyed the consistent artstyle, inclusion of a 'host' narrator and the puzzles. What a fun little game!

Mike Cook: Lovely style and tone, reminded me a bit of a Bitsy game. I'd love for you to finish this sometime and add all the ideas you had! What's there is really good. I'd like a *slightly* faster move rate maybe? A very charming game.

Jimmy Joe McGurl: Cute little pixel art rogue-like, despite maybe being off theme
